GR 17 Water inside the Earth
Badaín-Chorro de Fornos
The Cotiella massif is virtually impregnable from all sides. However, some deep ravines, like the River Irúes Ravine, lead to its interior and allow us to observe its complex geological structure. Furthermore, this pleasant track passes near the surprising Fuente de Fornos, where several springs that carry abundant water all year round emerge directly from the rocks and
flow into the River Irúes; proving that, in addition to spectacular escarpments and peaks, the Cotiella massif also hides a unique groundwater system.
